October Devotions . . .

We began our October Devotions this afternoon with quite a crowd present. We prayed for the Catechists of the parish as we begin our catechetical programmes this week. Next week we'll pray for the families of our parish.

I look forward to seeing you next week - same time, same place.

Thank you Fr Míċeál. It's a beautiful way to spend Sunday afternoon. It was very prayerful - even with the distraction of trying to take a few photos at appropriate moments!

Delighted to see October Devotions mentioned - a rarity in many places nowaqdays, sadly. Glad to see that your tabernacle is still central, Father.

Lovely cope! Question did you say the rosary with the blessed sacramentr exposed? My parish is not sure about it? Any advice?

Yes, we did say the Rosary in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar.

I hope the following may be of some help:

In the Papal Constitution, 'Indulgentiarum Doctrina' January 1967, there is provided a plenary indulgence for reciting the Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament.

Further, The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has affirmed that the Rosary may form part of devotions for Eucharistic Adoration.
